The production of virgin plastics requires the extraction of crude oil and natural gas, which are non-renewable resources.
The extraction and processing of these fossil fuels also contribute to air and water pollution, deforestation and habitat destruction. Secondly, the manufacturing process of virgin plastic releases harmful Greenhouse Gases such as Carbon Dioxide and Methane into the atmosphere. These gases contribute to Global Warming and climate change which have devastating effects on the environment, including rising sea levels, extreme weather events and the loss of biodiversity.
Additionally, as landfills become full, a lot of the worlds plastics end up in oceans and waterways. This pollution harms wildlife, marine life, and ecosystems, and can have long-lasting effects on the environment.

How Do We Reduce Your Carbon?

By recycling such plastics, we are diverting it from landfill sites where it would release Greenhouse Gases as it decomposes. Plastic material in landfill go through a process call anaerobic decomposition. This is where the plastic breaks down in the absence of oxygen, thus releasing methane gas. Methane gas is up to 84 times more harmful to the environment that Carbon Dioxide.
