Here at Carbon Points, we will recycle 4 tonnes of hard to recycle plastic per individual, otherwise destined for landfill. Your £99 payment will reduce the average persons yearly use of carbon.
The 2 main factors that will negate your carbon footprint are as follows -

1 - Reduced landfill waste : By recycling such plastics, we are diverting it from landfill sites where it would release Greenhouse Gases as it decomposes. Plastic material in landfill go through a process call anaerobic decomposition. This is where the plastic breaks down in the absence of oxygen, thus releasing methane gas. Methane gas is up to 84 times more harmful to the environment that Carbon Dioxide.

2 - Reduced Energy Consumption : By recycling hard to recycle plastics, we are able to save energy that would have been used in the production of new plastic products. This reduces the amount of Greenhouse Gas emissions generated from energy production, thus lowering your carbon footprint.
